LAYNE STALEY And KURT COBAIN's Addictions Examined In 'The Heroin Impact In Seattle' Book
May 15, 2007According to a press release from Arts Publications, Argentinean journalist/author Adriana Rubio — who penned the biography of late ALICE IN CHAINS frontman Layne Staley, titled "Layne Staley: Angry Chair" — has been working alongside social workers and drug counselors to figure out why Staley and NIRVANA frontman Kurt Cobain were so vulnerable to drugs like heroin. Rubio went deeper into the Seattle environment to discover what the external causes might have played a part in them becoming heroin users. Rubio also focused on the artistic side and the way the media and music industries treated the musicians.
Rubio's new book, "The Heroin Impact in Seattle", is filled with exclusive interviews, photographs and testimonials. Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley were in rehab on several occasions to kick the heroin habit. The two of them wanted a new life. Why couldn't they make it?
